Volunteering at Shantona - share your skills, grow as a person

Shantona is offering volunteering opportunities for women - join us, share your skills and learn new ones. Volunteer alongside Shantona staff in a variety of sessions to share and build your skills. Take part and receive training to develop you. Your journey will be supported by our volunteer coordinator every step of the way.

Induction to Shantona

Familiarise yourself with our organisation, our values, our teams and the different areas of service delivery we operate across.

Training on policies and procedures

Be trained on Shantona’s local policies and procedures – giving you a solid foundation of knowledge for your volunteering role.

Safeguarding training

Receive safeguarding training as part of your induction – an essential and valuable qualification for anyone working with vulnerable people.

Group work experience

Gain hands-on experience of delivering group work and providing direct support to women and children in our community.

Third sector knowledge

Develop a genuine understanding of how third sector organisations work – invaluable experience for a career in the charity and community sector.

YOUR INDUCTION

What your induction covers

All volunteers receive a structured induction - delivered either 1:1 or in a group, depending on volunteer intake - covering everything you need to get started.

Induction is offered both 1:1 and in groups depending on volunteer intake.

Your coordinator will discuss the best approach with you when you join.
