Sanctuary Support -
Helping you feel safer at home
A pathway into support for individuals - particularly from culturally diverse and migrant communities - experiencing domestic abuse, fear of crime, or at risk of homelessness.
We provide emotional, practical and advocacy support so you can feel safer, stronger and more secure in your home and your life.
ABOUT THIS SERVICE
A flexible, person-centred approach to safety and support.
The Sanctuary Support Team (SST) project is a pathway into support, particularly for marginalised groups – culturally diverse and migrant communities – to access additional support surrounding domestic abuse. We help individuals in fear of crime feel safer in their homes and aim to prevent homelessness.
SST supports victims-survivors in Leeds who require additional security measures and safety planning. We also offer emotional, practical and advocacy support focusing on – but not limited to – their experience of domestic abuse.
The level and length of support required will vary from person to person. It may involve intensive 1:1 work, regular check-ins, or linking people into appropriate groups and training opportunities. Risk is regularly assessed, and high risk or very high-risk cases are referred into LDVS for additional support.
About the Sanctuary Support Team
One key role is increasing awareness of Sanctuary throughout the organisation and to other community and faith-based organisations in the area.
The SST works with community and faith-based organisations across Leeds, helping to widen the reach of support available to those who need it most.
Risk is regularly assessed – high and very high-risk cases are referred into LDVS for additional support.
