Aasroy - DVA support

A range of holistic support offers for women and children of diverse communities experiencing or impacted by domestic abuse. Culturally sensitive support delivered by a team with specialist knowledge of the community and who are committed to challenging cultural practices that limit women and girls’ right to freedom and equality.

  • Become informed about their choices and options and feel empowered to take control of their lives.
  • Living in safety, free from abuse and fear.
  • Build confidence and raise self-esteem to live an independent life.
  • Feeling empowered to leave abusive relationships.
  • Receive a tailor-made support taking in account of their cultural and language needs and family dynamics.
  • 1:1 and group support for adult women

  • 1:1 support for children and young people

  • Specialised group support in schools and community venues

  • Risk assessment and outcomes focussed Support planning model

  • Confidential advice and advocacy

  • Awareness sessions on domestic violence and abuse

  • Access to groups – see below for days and times:

    • Stepping Forward Support group – every Tuesday from 10-12pm (term-time only)

    • Communication skills – every Wednesday 9.30-11.30am

    • Coffee morning – first Friday of the month from 9-11am (term-time only)
