Our Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVAs) are specially trained advocates who provide free, confidential support around sexual violence - from the moment you report, right through the criminal justice process to court.
What an ISVA Offers

How We Support You
Practical advocacy, every step of the way.
From your first conversation through to court, your ISVA is there to advocate, inform and stand with you.
1:1 support, arranged around you
Meetings arranged at a mutually convenient place, where you’ll feel safe, supported and never judged.
Telephone support & advocacy
Ongoing support over the phone whenever you need to talk, ask questions or get reassurance.
Liaising with police, CPS & courts
Advocating on your behalf with the police, Crown Prosecution Service, courts and other public agencies.
Support at meetings & statements
Being right beside you when giving statements, attending meetings or making court arrangements.
Keeping you informed
Maintaining clear information about your case so you always know your rights, choices and next steps.
Culturally aware outreach
As an ISVA from culturally diverse communities, we raise awareness and reach women and girls others may miss.
WEEKLY GROUP
DV Support Group
A safe place for survivors to rebuild and gain coping strategies to move forward. It's also a space for initial conversations that may lead to more specialised support - at your own pace, surrounded by people who understand.
You can access and attend with the support of your ISVA whenever you feel ready.

Reaching out is the first step
You can refer yourself, or ask a support worker to refer you. If you'd like to talk to someone first to see whether this is the right support, just call or email - there's no pressure and no obligation.
