Providing a structured training program for women with lived mental health experiences. We will equip them to be competent and have leadership in expressing and transforming the way the community views mental health from a cultural and religious perspective, especially, post covid and with the current cost of living crisis.
- Develop awareness about mental health and the issues associated within the culturally diverse communities – such as post-natal depression, menopause, Ramadan and fasting.
- Learn about a mother’s mental health and the impact on children and families.
- Acquire skills through attending training basic safeguarding, First aid and mental health first Aider and basic coaching skills.
- Be able to discuss – what is mental Health?
- Mental health and culture – gain understanding around culture, religion, and practices of how it influences the community and mental health.
- Develop knowledge of support services, referrals, access, and barriers.
We run 3 x 8-week programs annually. Sessions are delivered to groups at the Bangladeshi Centre
- Plan and deliver 3 x workshop to display & share learning, celebrate achievements
- Target community groups to raise awareness and share positive messages
- Each messenger to invite 10 people to attend workshops
