Asroy Project

Shantona’s domestic violence project, Asroy meaning ‘safe haven’ is currently funded by the Big Lottery’s Reaching Communities programme to provide a high quality front line service for victims of domestic violence and abuse from South Asian communities.

It has been found that domestic abuse is under reported within south Asian community, to combat this, the aim of the Asroy Project is to raise awareness of this issue in the community and support women, children and young people and families to build resilience against any form of violence and abuse by providing them ‘a hand held’ support to help them become independent and give them the tools to empower themselves to deal with their day- to-day life and making informed choices for their future.

We are a specialist organisation with 19 years’ experience of working with communities from South Asia providing a number of cultural sensitive activities around parenting, healthy relationship and building resilience.
