The Management Committee
Management Committee:
Shantona's Management Committee consists of local women striving to meet the needs of the community in order to make difference. The Management Committee contains of a Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary, and another 7 full members and a co-opted member from statutory and voluntary agencies.
All Management Committee members bring in different experience and expertise including health and social care and education etc. to the project.
There is also a membership through nominee forms, that is open to all local women over the age of 18 who are interested in the advancement of the company and who are residents or working in the Leeds area, or representatives of organisations or bodies of any description working in the Chapeltown and Harehills area. Every year we have Annual General Meeting whereby we nominate the members.
With all voluntary sector organisations, need to meet the aims and objectives in order to have an effective running of the centre. Meetings are arranged every six weeks for the development of Shantona, and deal with any issues that are raised in meetings with reference to the Centre. Shantona have also implemented a focus group in order to observe the effective operation of the project, exercising needs analysis to improve our services for the local women.
