Mission Statement, Aims and Objectives

Mission statement:

To provide a separate, safe environment to encourage Bangladeshi women, young people and children to take control of their lives and fulfil their full potential.

Aims:

  • To work with other services to create and provide access to training, educational and employment related opportunities to raise confidence and aspirations
  • To address health related recreational needs to promote healthy choices and improve access to health services
  • To provide an integrated multi-agency services to Bangladeshi families to ensure their well being and equal involvement in the community.
  • To develop and sustain the organisation's infrastructure in order to achieve the above

Objectives:

  • To champion the needs of Bangladeshi women, young people and children with various relevant statutory and voluntary organisations and strategic partners.
  • To improve the cultural and religious awareness among professionals and service deliverers.
  • To promote, co-ordinate and participate in joint multi-cultural events to promote social cohesion.
  • To proactively build more links with strategic partners.
  • To plan and facilitate educational sessions and activities with partner organisations to encourage informed choices.
  • To facilitate and access training and educational opportunities for all age groups through partnership work.
  • To provide capacity building activities to raise aspirations and build confidence.
  • To work with employers to increase work opportunities.
  • To assist community women to work towards developing their 'own' employment opportunities e.g. setting up their own businesses, working from home etc.
  • To organise and deliver activities with professionals and service providers to meet physical, social and emotional needs of Bangladeshi women, young people and children.
  • To carry out research and consultation analysis of community health related needs to further develop and improve current service provision.
  • To provide practical support including equality childcare and advocacy to assist Bangladeshi families make the most out of mainstream services.
  • To provide after school provision (home work club, play scheme etc).
